Shape the Future of Education
TRANSEARCH International Australia is partnering with the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) to manage the recruitment process for potential Council and Board Members for recommendation to the responsible Minister to be appointed to university councils and the Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutes, Adult Community and Further Education (ACFE), AMES Australia (AMES) and Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) boards and any other entities as required under government policy and directives.
Government board and council roles offer fixed three-year terms—with opportunities for renewal—creating regular openings for fresh voices and diverse expertise. This dynamic appointment model ensures our Boards reflect contemporary best practices, strong governance and the evolving needs of today’s and tomorrow’s learners.

TAFE
There are 10 TAFE board roles available:
Box Hill Institute Melbourne is a leading Victorian provider of TAFE courses, vocational training and international degrees in Melbourne CBD, Box Hill and Lilydale.
Chisholm Institute is a government-owned TAFE located in south-east Melbourne. It provides adult education including the arts, hospitality, IT, trades and business.
The Gordon is Victoria’s largest regional stand-alone TAFE servicing the wider Geelong area and has been helping people gain real skills for real jobs for over 125 years.
Holmesglen Institute is a government-owned TAFE and higher education provider offering short courses, apprenticeships, certificates, diplomas and degrees.
Kangan Institute is a leading training provider in automotive, health, nursing and Indigenous education . It also offers courses in industries such as fashion, business and justice.
Melbourne Polytechnic (formerly NMIT) a public institute, offers vocational training and higher education degrees across campuses in the northern and inner suburbs.
South West TAFE is an education and training provider servicing the Great Ocean Road region with campuses in Warrnambool, Hamilton, Portland and Colac.
Sunraysia Institute of TAFE (SuniTAFE) is the largest educational provider in north-west Victoria and delivers vocational training from its main campuses in Mildura and Swan Hill.
TAFE Gippsland is the region’s public TAFE provider, delivering practical, industry-focused training across campuses throughout Gippsland and supporting diverse regional economies.
William Angliss Institute is Australia’s specialist centre for foods, tourism, hospitality and events. It’s Melbourne CBD campus offers short courses to bachelor degrees.
Higher Education

ACFE (Adult, Community and Further Education) Board is a Victorian statutory board that supports a statewide network of Learn Local organisations, helping adults upskill and re-engage with learning.
AMES Australia supports refugees and migrants to settle in Australia, providing English tuition, vocational training, employment services and settlement support to help newcomers build independant, connected lives.
ANAM (Australian National Academy of Music) is Australia’s national training institute for exceptional young classical musicians, based at South Melbourne Town Hall and preparing the next generation of performers.
La Trobe University Council is the governing body of La Trobe University, responsible for the University’s strategic direction, financial oversight and governance across its Melbourne and regional Victorian campuses.
