Setting Direction When the Signals Conflict

Building on the momentum of our recent CEO Roundtable discussions, we would like to extend a personal invitation to join a select group of peers for our next session Leading with Conviction: Setting Direction When the Signals Conflict.

Date: Wednesday, 24 June 2026
Time: 12 noon for 12.15pm start. Event closes by 1.45pm
Location: TRANSEARCH Boardroom, Level 10, 333 Collins Street, Melbourne
Light lunch: Please advise your dietary requirements when booking

At our last session, Outlook 2026, the mood was cautiously optimistic. Leaders were leaning into the year ahead with a degree of confidence. Much has changed since then.

Geopolitical developments, renewed volatility in global markets and a rapidly shifting economic backdrop have tested that confidence. The signals CEOs are now reading are more contradictory, more complex and less forgiving of a slow response.

The leaders gaining ground are not waiting for the picture to clear.

The environment is unforgiving and the pace of change is not slowing. What separates the leaders gaining ground is not access to better information. It is the willingness to act on imperfect signals with clarity and conviction.

That conviction – and what it demands of leaders and their organisations – sits at the heart of our discussion.

Key themes we will explore on the day:

  • Reading the Signals That Matter: Which indicators are proving most meaningful in a noisy and contradictory environment? How are leaders distinguishing between short-term volatility and the signals that genuinely warrant a strategic response?
  • Making the Call on Growth, Cost and Investment: Where is conviction strongest right now and where does discipline need to hold? As agentic AI moves from experimentation to operational deployment, where is investment still being backed and what does ROI now need to mean?
  • Do We Have the Leadership Capacity to Respond? Are current conditions exposing gaps in leadership capability, bench strength or succession readiness? What leadership behaviours matter most when certainty is unavailable but direction still needs to be set?

A confidential, discussion-led forum held under Chatham House Rules, our CEO Roundtable series draw on the collective judgement and experience of peers to enable open and honest exchange. Grounded in the Australian market but reflective of the global dynamics increasingly shaping local decisions, these events provide a trusted space to test assumptions, compare perspectives and sharpen strategic thinking ahead of critical planning cycles.

Places are limited, so please register now to confirm your seat.

If you are unable to join this session but would like to be included in future invitations, you can express your interest here.

We look forward to another highly engaging and thought-provoking discussion. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
