The organisation
With an agenda to raise awareness and support people living with dementia this national NFP has played a significant part in advocating for older vulnerable Australians across all levels of government right through to local communities.

In response to changes within the aged care sector, and with the burgeoning increase in dementia prevalence, this organisation is seeking to undergo a major transformation to remain at the forefront of the industry, delivering quality support services to a wider audience, and, improving aged care practices across the board through provision of education and consultancy services.

The role
The role is responsible for both service development and the delivery of existing services whilst externally supporting increased awareness and access to funding. Critical to the role will be the ability to manage resources including the existing client service delivery teams, meet financial targets both operational and in business acquisition. The incumbent will also participate in external networks to create new partnerships, to deliver new programs, and win fee for service consulting assignments. The role will be responsible for delivering fully scoped business cases for new or expanded opportunities to the Executive to approve.

About you
Your prior success is likely to include the following attributes and experiences:

  • Experience in program management
  • Proven track record of generating income
  • Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of staff and the community including the effective liaison with stakeholders e.g. Government, other service providers, consumers etc.
  • Advocacy for social change at all levels
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development and commercial enterprise desirable
  • Understanding of state and federal government frameworks and processes 
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in the rapidly changing aged care sector care models and funding
  • Experience working with carers, families and those living with chronic conditions
  • Track record in team management, preferably in the social and community services sector
  • Strong stakeholder relationship skills with the ability to foster ongoing opportunities and influence key funding decision makers 
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant degree.
